Freedom for Palestine

Two videos (which tell an interesting story together) about Palestine.

First, the “controversial” video that Coldplay recommended to its fans called “Freedom for Palestine” (I confess that I’m not a big fan of the song itself, but I fully endorse its sentiment).  The song is hardly controversial at all, but of course, Israel and its Zionist supporters will have no truck with any criticism of Israeli policy:

Second, on June 1, hundreds of thousands of Israelis marched in a (fascistic) demonstration through Palestinian sections of Jerusalem chanting (among other things) “Mohammad is dead!”

The Arab Spring is making its way through the world in amazing ways.  If you had told me five years ago that revolutionary movements in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Bahrain, Jordan, Syria (and the rest) would be challenging American hegemony in this way I am not sure that I would have believed it.  For the first time in a long time, the demand for Palestinian liberation is not a utopian demand.  Palestine should be free!
