Sumit Sarkar and Tanika Sarkar on Indian history

Sumit Sarkar’s new book on modern India (an updated version of his classic, Modern India, 1885-1947) seems to be close to finished.  I interviewed him and Tanika Sarkar a few years ago, while I was a graduate student at UC Berkeley.  I was excited to discover this new video recording of the Sarkars reading a paper on Marxism and Indian history.  I learnt almost all of my Indian history by reading his books.
